Lots of News and Rumors...
Yannic Perreault to Coyotes (e4)
TSN is reporting that the Phoenix Coyotes are very close to signing forward Yannic Perreault.

Gretzky to step down as coach, to be replaced by Hitchcock (e4)
Sources out of Phoenix tell me that Wayne Gretzky will step down as coach of the Phoenix Coyotes, and GM Mike Barnett will be fired. Gretzky will fill the spot of General Manager. As a result, Ken Hitchcock will be hired as the new head coach.

Bertuzzi expected to be out 3-4 months (e4)
According to sources in Florida, Todd Bertuzzi's back may require surgery. If that is the case, he may be out for 3-4 months or even the entire season. He has missed some games for Florida this year and may be sidelined for months now.

Coyotes interested in Nabokov and Tellqvist
The Phoenix Coyotes have been linked to both Evgeni Nabakov, and Mikael Tellqvist, this might lead to the departure of Curtis Joseph. Tellqvist would be a decent backup for a 2nd rounder, but why waste a second when David Levenue could probably do the job better? My guess is that Evgeni Nabokov is probably who they'll go after, if anybody. Nick Boynton has been linked to this deal also.

Nabokov to Pens (e4)
The situation in Pittsburgh has been changed a bit. Pittsburgh is now deep in talks with San Jose about sending underacheiving goaltender Evgeni Nabokov to Pittsburgh for young goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury. The Pens feel that Andre-Fleury isn't performing to his highest potential in a always last-place team with Pittsburgh, and believes he will shine with San Jose, a stacked team, who can improve players instantly (i.e. Thornton and Cheechoo). San Jose wants to trade Nabokov because he doesn't want to be a backup under a young goaltender in Vesa Tosakla, as Toskala would probably play 70 games, and Nabokov's skill would be wasted.
